BURNT SAUCEPANS
Have you ever burnt the contents of a non-stick saucepan so that they form a thick charcoal-brown icky mess that even a good soak and scrub will not shift? This might just save the day if all else fails.
Fill the pan with water and heat until the water is almost too hot to put your hand in. REMOVE THE PAN FROM THE HEAT. Throw in a quarter of a cup of BIOLOGICAL washing powder and allow to soak for at least twenty four hours. Put on washing-up gloves and rinse the pan, giving it a good scrub with a plastic scourer. (Don't get biological washing powdered water on your hands - it can cause an allergic reaction.) Repeat as necessary - or else throw the blooming thing away and stick to microwave meals from now on :-)
